About Orryx
Structured Planning for
Serious Infrastructure Work
We bring an engineer's discipline to infrastructure planning — structured processes, documented outputs, and advice that is not tied to any product sale.

Built Around a Specific Gap in the Market
Orryx was set up in George Town by a group of infrastructure and operations specialists who kept seeing the same problem: organisations in Malaysia were committing significant capital to GPU and AI compute build-outs without having a clear, documented planning baseline to work from.
Hardware vendors had every incentive to accelerate purchasing decisions. System integrators were focused on deployment. Nobody was sitting alongside the engineering and IT leads at the planning table — asking the slower, harder questions about workload sequencing, capacity assumptions, and operational readiness.
That is the gap Orryx was set up to fill. We work in the space before procurement, supporting teams to frame their infrastructure requirements clearly, model growth scenarios honestly, and produce documentation that holds up in stakeholder conversations and budget reviews.
We do not resell hardware. We do not receive referral fees from cloud providers. Our only commercial interest is in producing work that is genuinely useful to the teams we work with.
Mission
To give Malaysian engineering and IT teams a reliable, independent planning partner as they navigate the operational complexity of scaling AI compute infrastructure.
Approach
Each engagement begins with listening. We map what your team already knows, identify the gaps that matter most, and work within a defined scope to produce clear, written outputs.
Values
Vendor independence is non-negotiable. Documentation quality matters. Scope discipline keeps engagements honest. We do not stretch work beyond what was agreed.

How We Work
Our Operational Standards
Every engagement at Orryx follows a set of practices designed to keep our work structured, confidential, and genuinely useful.
Defined Scope Before Work Begins
We agree on engagement scope, expected outputs, and timelines in writing before any advisory work commences. Scope changes are discussed openly and documented.
Confidentiality by Default
Client capacity figures, architecture details, and planning documents are treated as confidential. We work under a standard NDA and do not discuss client specifics externally.
Peer Review on All Outputs
Written deliverables are reviewed by a second advisor before being shared with clients. This keeps the quality of our documentation consistent across engagements.
No Vendor Relationships
Orryx holds no referral partnerships, reseller agreements, or commercial arrangements with GPU manufacturers, cloud providers, or data centre operators.
Stakeholder-Ready Communication
Our documentation is written so that IT leads can share it directly with finance, procurement, or executive audiences without heavy reformatting or interpretation.
Post-Engagement Review
At the close of each engagement, we hold a structured review session with the client team to confirm the outputs meet the agreed scope and address any open questions.
Our Practice
Infrastructure Planning Advisory in Malaysia
Orryx operates as a focused B2B advisory practice in Penang, working with organisations across Malaysia that are building or expanding their AI compute infrastructure. Our work sits at the intersection of technical planning and operational management — helping engineering and IT teams translate broad infrastructure objectives into structured, sequenced plans.
The advisory practice covers three main areas of engagement. Organisations at the early stage of infrastructure thinking benefit from our capacity readiness reviews, which surface the gaps between current assumptions and operational reality. Teams that have a direction but need a structured path forward work with us on scaling roadmaps — documents that lay out phased growth scenarios with clear sequencing logic. For organisations running extended, multi-phase build programmes, our embedded planning partner arrangement provides continuous advisory access through a quarterly retained engagement.
Our advisors bring experience from enterprise data centre operations, technical programme management, and infrastructure capacity planning. This combination allows us to engage credibly with both the technical details of GPU workload profiling and the broader organisational questions around budget sequencing, procurement timelines, and stakeholder reporting.
Based in George Town, Pulau Pinang, we work with clients primarily across Peninsular Malaysia, with particular familiarity with the technology sector landscape in the Klang Valley and Penang's manufacturing and shared services clusters.
